Anansi Padma comes to help the group while they are looking for Kor Yander. She lives on Paper Island.

She can see the future and lost her arms and sight in one eye during a looming accident. She also has control over textiles, which is allows her to use a scarf as her arms. However she can only control textiles that she herself feels close to, so she can't turn an enemy's cloths against them.

• Spirit: Cockatrice.
  • It is a mythological creature often compared to a basilisk, whose breath or gaze was said to bring instant death.
• Anansi predicts in Book 7 that Tuff will meet a blue skinned woman, this is fulfilled in his meeting with Cassie Matsyendra.
• Anansi's name may be inspired by the west African/ Carribean folklore character by the same name.
  • It also translates to "Spider"
